Acupuncture stimulates specific points on the body using sterile, hair-thin needles to restore the natural flow of energy—known as Qi. This practice supports the nervous, immune, and circulatory systems, helping to relieve pain, improve function, and restore balance. Though based in ancient Chinese Medicine, acupuncture is now supported by modern research for its healing effects.
Acupuncture is considered minimally painful, but some patients may experience more of a sensation on parts of the body with thinner skin such as the feet and hands. Some patients experience soreness, minimal pain and bruising at the point of insertion, but these sensations typically dissipate not long after treatment.
Gua Sha is a traditional technique that is also known as ‘scraping therapy’. It involves gently scraping the skin with a smooth edged tool to stimulate the flow of blood to reduce pain, increase mobility/ range of motion, enhance performance and injury recovery, and reduce fever and inflammation.
Cosmetic acupuncture is a targeted treatment designed to affect and enhance the appearance of your skin. It focuses on the face but it is still a whole-body treatment. It’s a natural alternative to botox that works by promoting the skin’s natural circulation, collagen production and regeneration. During your initial assessment I will assess your skin, discuss your goals, and create a personalized treatment plan. The number of treatments required varies depending on severity and patient constitution, but it is recommended to do at least ten consecutive treatments for best results.
